Social capital and social capital indicators: a reading list

This paper briefly discusses the concept of 'social capital' and its definition and measurement. It cites the origins of the term and the different aspects of definition that need to be considered before indicators for measurement can be developed. Limitations to the usefulness of such measures are also discussed. The paper contains a sample of references from the most prominent authors in the field in Australia and overseas.
