Health and welfare workforce estimates, by place of work, 2006

In the absence of official data derived from administrative datasets that show geographical variations in the availability of the health and welfare workforce, data derived from the 2006 Population Census conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) are presented in this atlas.

As these are not official data derived from administrative datasets, they should be used with caution, bearing in mind the caveats in the note appended to each indicator.  The estimates are best seen as highlighting likely variations between areas in the availability of people in the particular occupation.
